soudcard recommendations for windows vista

yes, windows vista, the worst OS of all time.unfortunatley my pc was preloaded with horrific OS. anyways, i am looking for a decent soundcard to playback music (via itunes) and occasionally ripping vinyl to the pc. So therefore rca inputs or 1/4 inch inputs would be great. Seems like everything is xp compatable but not vista compatable. My itunes is nonfunctional with my standard soundcard (no playback, but windows media player works?)any help appriciated
