yao. Haven't been here in the longest. Whats good? Came back cause I've been on a mission for a while. And I know there are some quality diggers on here that can probably help me out.Been building up a nice collection of 80s disco funk type shit. Not even sure what genre it would be called. Disco funk? P-funk?Its got soul singing, but not 70s type of soul.. It has heavier bass, with thick handclaps or tight snares, heavy synths, but not 90s type of synths. Its on some roller boogie (kenny dope), feel good type of tracks, with less focus on the singing, but banging ass beats. Think if Chromeo was living in the 80s. So i know most peeps on here dig for early funk and soul, but maybe some of y'all know what I'm talking about. Here are some tracks that show what I mean. Let me know what you think. And for those into this kind of crap, let me what other songs are you feeling? Or drop some tracks if you could.I-level - 3 a.m.[/b]http://www.zshare.net/audio/4600220834090e/O'Jays - Put Our Heads Together[/b]http://www.zshare.net/audio/46002319bd8b86/Ray Parker Jr - For Those Who Like To Groove[/b]http://www.zshare.net/audio/4652072c674c03/Evelyn King - I'm In Love[/b]http://www.zshare.net/audio/4652178c584b8b/D-Train - You're The One For Me[/b]http://www.zshare.net/audio/465197121456c3/I'll drop some more later when I have more time.

yea.. For right now I'm looking specifically for newer 80s type shit. Cause 80s got a whole different sound than 70s ish.

Like earlier stuff sounds a bit more "soul"-ish, and has guitars and what not. 80s ish flang up their guitars, or use synths, and got heavier bass lines, etc.

Its all good stuff either way. It kind of blends lines. Disco, roller boogie, 80s funk, etc.

By the way, nice new edition track, but this one is my jam!

word. Where can I find that devin the dude version? never heard it.

  • There was a thread on the hollerboard not too long ago. Hopefully some of the links are still up there... http://board.low-bee.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=27831&p=315123&hilit=boogie#p315123
If that link doesn't work, do a topic search for "boogie" and you should find the Boogie/roller disco thread.

  • Here's two newer tracks that may not be exactly what you're looking for, but are worth posting up anyway.
