i need some iPod help please!!!

i posted earlier about ipod video conversion and figured out that it needed to be in M4V format...for some reason my ipod wont let me put videos on it. it says it doesnt support such a thing. i can put videos on the ipod from a friends computer though which is odd.i have the new version of itunes with all the updates etc....anyone know why this could be happening?it sucks

    I create files as MP4 and haven't had any problems getting them onto the iPod (80GB Vid)
