good counterweight settings for recording vinyl

I don't like to fudge with my counterweight settings ever. i find where they don't skip when I mix and scratch, and leave them there. but when you record stuff from the turntable/mixer, it can sound kind of, um, weighty, for lack of a better word. any audiophile dudes in here have any expertise, know the best weight settings for recording? thank yous.
