I don't know. Mickey Hart has always had a lot of respect for percussion instruments from around the world, had his own label to promote and highlight indigenous music, and Zakir Hussein has been open to many collaborations throughout the years, moreso than his father, the late Alla Rakha.

Even reading the link, it doesn't sound any different than Mick Fleetwood's Zoo. Maybe more like the folk life festival where you can bang on the drum until the 8 foot candle hits the ground but... sounds interesting.

I've seen him. God on the tabla? I don't know. I definitely prefer Pandit Anindo Chatterjee, or Pandit Sharda Sahai (Benares R).

I don't know about too much of his other non-Dead stuff, but I'm pretty sure the Mickey Hart's Mystery Box cd is the soundtrack to several rings of hell.
