With all due respect to Wardell Q., it's quite funny to do an internet search on how to pronounce his last name. Hell, I've had folks swear that it's spelled with a "g", or "q", respectvely. Among the listed pronunciations online (seemingly, no two sources have it listed the same way):-kay-zer-kay-quiz-air-cuh-zair/kuh-zair-ka-zur-key-kweh-zayre-kah-zerkey-kwezz-er-kay-kezz-er-kay-keh-zehrkI mean, the man is the #2 or 3 producer/arranger in all of New Orleans soul history, right? Everyone should know the definitive pronunciation.

Actually, I guess it's more Kezz-er-kay now that I think
of it, I don't think I was saying "kwezz" ...

You folks disappoint me. I trust that you've heard of the man before, n'est-ce pas?*

Looks like I'm sticking with L*rry's version.

That "Sixty Smokin Soul Senders" dbl cd is

  • I was watchin this NOLA music thing on PBS a few weeks ago and was excited when I saw him in this one scene because I thought I would get to hear how his name is pronounced, but alas, just his name and "producer" in a caption under him...dang. I dont have a pronounciation for it because I have never had to say it aloud, so I figured my butchering of it would be way off anyway.

  • its gotta be Kezz-er-kay!

    gotta.
