Cheapo mixing software?

Could use any quick information about free or really cheap mixing/editing software, mostly going to use it for mixing. Freeware would be the best, I don't want to hit up limewire or filesharing sites. Or I guess something in the 40.00 dollar range that is super easy to learn and use in a week or so.

  • I heard that Toast is pretty good and on the cheap side...
    I'm also looking for something like this, so c'mon doods, what's the deal?

    toast looks cool. I used to use cakewalk pyro(40.00) for the most basic mix. I didn't bring the disc to nyc and i'm trying to hook-up my friends computer with some basic ish. thanks for the info IRON.
