John Swain was probably the most influential person in my early record collecting career. A true music lover and true curmudgeon in the best sense of the word. R.I.P. John.
"Anyone who's ever met John back in the day won't be the least bit surprised to see him holding court here as he does one spring day in 1987. John owned and operated The Record Hole used albums store in Raleigh. Melissa Bent shot the footage for an as-yet uncompleted documentary about collectors. When John passed on in 1991 it was decided that we had enough material for a tribute, so here it is. It's last public showing was at a memorial for John held at The Brewery club shortly after his death."
