Let me know about ....I came across the expression "get on down" a couple times. "Eddie Harris" used it for a song, "East Harlem Bus Stop" used it for their album title, and many more used it. Looking for some translation into German - I couldn't find any 1:1 translation, nowhere. So I wonder how would you describe it with other common English words, which make it real clear what it means?

Similar to get loose, and behave as if you were the only person doing it. Become a casual person, act as if you had no tomorrow. But, it could also mean something like, bring the heat to the track; play your instrument as if you were trying to kill yourself. Boogie like you were killing somebody with your dance moves. It's broad.

Well, "Get Down on" would have been easier Peter, the German word "abgehen" might be an appropriate translation...
