Can you help me out? Hotel prices are freaking me out. Even the Holiday Inn is $542/night. I need something reasonable that isn't a share. Please PM if you know of anything.Thanks

there are people who own co-ops/condos that rent them out like hotels but for much cheaper. i bet craigs list or a similar site might advertise them and it is fairly common practice.

yeah i've emailed some on cL and i'm not having much luck with availability because it's such short notice.

if you want to be downtown. try the solita soho hotel on Grand. It looks okay but is in a wierd place but may be less expensive. I never stayed there and know nothing about it except that it is a small little boutique hotel on Grand Street that I always wondered what the deal with it was.

I know the place because I know the owner from a previous life and the house is a broken down old roach infested[/b] dump (once i picked up a bag in the kitchen in the middle of the day and there were like 5 roaches under it. I checked reviews just now to see if it was the same place before i opened my mouth. Its gross, trust me.

We got a suite complete with a kitchen for around $250 a night. Recommended, and a great location.

uhh.. i was making a suggestion, homeboy.

I live in the neighborhood... my friend stayed there and said it was very clean. his girl is very anal about cleanliness and was very happy with it.

I have no dog in this fight, nor do I know the people who own the property... so it's all pretty inconsequential to me.

The neighborhood is great and it just occurred to me. Carry on.

im just saying, im not trying to imply that you made a bad suggestion or anything like that. Im just saying look at the reviews, they're horrible, i feel bad for the people who left them. And I think its funny cause I totally know the place, the owner and all the circumstances of the business and why it is what it is. I know your just trying to make a suggestion, Im not meaning to be a dick about it.

I used to live around there too, 90 Atlantic Ave from 1992-95.

The Larchmont Hotel in The Village on 11st and 5th ave has real nice, clean rooms for $100 a night. no private bathroom, you share with half the floor...that's if you have the european in you.
