Thanks folks. Looking forward to enjoying the day tomorrow (it's not technically my b-day yet where I'm at).

In celebration of my 35th, I'm sharing an old mix-CD out of my archive:

I originally put this out back in the '90s (at this point, I can't even remember when) and have never brought it back into rotation. It was a concept mix of a sort, inspired by Sole Sides, whose name obviously inspired my blog's. Unfortunately, I don't have a tracklisting available - ya'll will just have to piece it together yourselves .

Thanks to Motown for helping me out with a clean copy since my original master had gone to shite.

    happy b-day!
    thanks for the birthday gift.

ps. your kid is too cute!

  • Happy Birthday Oliver.

Thanks for sharing the mix too. My old roommate had this, so it will be nice to check it out again.

I can't get side B to load though. When you click the link it actually opens up a download for "groove.zip"
There is a link for side B I think, but it requires email address and password, saying only the owner can access it. Did I miss something.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Danke!

My morning started about 15 minute ago when my 2.5 year old came into the room and wanted to open my present (that my wife got me).

I was half-awake but perked up considerably when I noticed an Apple logo peeking through the torn paper.

Yeah folks - iPhone. I luuuuuuuuuuuv my wife.

Of course, I smiled at my daughter and said, "one day sweetie, this will all be yours. Most likely when the 2nd gen comes out."

(but hell, I am NOT looking a gift horse in the mouth)

    Happy birthday, dude!

I've been knowing the work of the one Oliver for more than ten years now--his 12" reviews circa 1996 were partially responsible for many an embarassingly mis-spent teenage dollar.
