Did he have an album, or at least any other 45's? Because his 1972 single on Oak, "I'll Always Have You There," is pure 
, definitely recommended to anyone who ever liked the J.R. Bailey LP on MAM. Same kind of proto-modern soul sound. His voice is rather gritty compared to Bailey, Angelo Bond, or Ronnie McNeir - he sounds like he ought to be fronting some funk band on a Numero Group compilation - but that SOUND is there, sparse piano backing reminiscent of Donny Hathaway or Leroy Hutson, but without the jazz leanings of either. This was a hit, so it should be easy to find...
