who's feelin these dudes? whats their deal? are they fwesh and i just don't get it? i've heard a couple tracks that were and one with talib on it thats a little better than your thoughts? please to share...
well it's not by accident that a lot of cats from madlib and dilla to kanye, questlove etc. respect these guys. they have a lot of good beats, but they are sadly not too consistent.
the rest of us are more sober in our assessment of these jokers.
speak for yourself. i dig the partnership despite their occasional missteps. but to answer the og poster's question, i think they're an acquired taste. either you get it or you don't.

no I think that was a pretty sober assessment actually. moist is a bit over-the-top in his enthusiasm I think. but he's not in this thread so I'll let him speak on it when he gets the chance.
I'm surprised Otto that you of all strutters would not be UP on the great sa ra creative partners. I fully endorse and support these guys. They are what's missing in hip hop and I'm serious. I have always said that no one is gonna "get it" or appreciate these guys until way late and after the fact. They are too good and ahead of their time. Yes some of their records aren't that good. Some are amazing and all the unreleased stuff I have heard is GREAT. Taz is killing it on the fashion tip, with fat gold ropes, three pairs of louis vuitton millionaires (at once!), coke shirts, etc. Totally ill. Way to ill for the younger generation to understand. They are into the long white tees and big pants and really ugly sneakers. Wick wick wack...............
i completely agree about their future classic status. they're on some other shit, some hits, some misses but overall it's their progressive style that has me on board. that and the occasions where they channel p-funk via vocoders and synth stabs...
i think if they worked with a rapper (or group) as the sole producer for an album they would be able to shine. that or have someone to guide them (aka tell them "yo this shit is wack" when it's needed)
