hey holmes, i'm taking spanish classes. what is your native tongue? if its spanish, how long did it take you to learn english? if its english, how long did it take you to learn spanish? i'm just trying to give myself a guess-timation of how long it will take me...basically i'm planning a Barcelona trip in 2 years, and want to know a great deal of spanish by then, so i can chat with the locals in terms about what the real deal is...real speak, so as to speak. i'm taking spanish classes, and its mind consuming...like 2 ways of saying "to be" and 2 ways of saying "to know" on top of everying being masculin and feminine and conjugating verbs to fit who the hell is saying shit, haha but from what i understand that concept is pretty much in every language besides english....hey, if i'm being ignorant in terms of your home-base, i apologize in advance, i know what its like when people confuse the various types of asians, so i sympathize and empathize in advance.but i would appreciate some knowledge. what say u jlr? one thing i heard is that barcelonians talk with some sort of "lisp"? so its almost like if i was to say "barcelona" i'd have to say it like "barthhhhelona", thats hilarious to us, but if thats what it is, then that's what it is. is that the major difference between say spanish from spain versus mexico? cause i've been watching simpsons dvds with spanish audio and im assuming its the mexica version of spanish?
ps: i'm canadian, so we kind of have a 6th vowel "eh". does that confuse things?
ps 2: i'm south asian-canadian, so its like i'm brown too...am i down? brown pride, what it do.
