holler if you heart the jangly-twang of rickenbacker guitars. gorgeous and distinctive tone for rich ass melody and the 12-string is so unfadeable. plus they look really cool

    Bam has not one, but two Ricks (No Nielsen) on his wall (bass and guitar). They match and are beautiful and add a very grown quality to his stussussudio.

    I was lucky enough to get to play a Rick bass in a band I was in. It was the guitarists, but he let me use it cuz it sounded so good. God I love those guitars. Fucking Yardbirds dude!!!!!!

    Our wonderful ricky bass died the night after SF, right after we saw you!
    I think it had burrito poisoning. Traded it in for 1978 P-Bass. No regrets.
    I'm too big for a pussy ass bass like that. I would like a hollowbody 12 string tho.

    Little known guitar geek fact:
    All those nasty rhythms on Funkadelic's S/T, Free Your Mind, and Maggot Brain Lps were played on a Rickenbacker (330 I believe) by Luscious Tawl Ross. After those albums he had some issues (see Syd Barret) and didn't record w/ them again.

    My guitar geek opinion:
    Him and Hazel are the most underated guitar duo ever.

    One of my all time fave LPs. Clarence White's guitar on 'Bad Night At The Whiskey' is about as bloodshitting as they come.

    Clarence White of the Byrds developed the Parson/ White stringbender, which bends only two strings via pulling on the guitar's strap for steel like effects. Looks like this from the rear...

    I had a Rick 330 for a couple years. They are real stiff but thats what gives them that rad jangle! Just plug one in to vox AC30, turn it all the up and play an open E chord-and PRESTO you got freakbeat, son.
