Anybody peep the The VH1 Soul documentaries?Funk w/ JB/Clinton/Bootsy/Sly footage and Interviews. Ricky Vincent(who spoke) private mind garden steez.Hatters respond. 
They also did a Hip Hop Soul one w/ Mary J Blige/ Lauryn and then skipped right to Beyonce.Shouldnt Aaliyah be included in Hip Hip Soul's canon? I was disussing this w/ my peeps and they dont think she should be placed next to Mary and them. She and Tim really changed the game. Lauryn of course. I have no problem w/ a 45min doc omitting Jade/SWV/etc. all the 3 hit wonders who helped stretch the sound. And where does Mariah Carey's contriutions to Hip Hop Soul lie? Even if she doesnt truly commit to the style she has bonified bangers w/in the style.
