saba/mps records: minimum 500 and up to max 10.000 (in many cases it was only 500-1000; especially regarding free jazz, contemporary jazz etc). only exception are the Peterson records on mps. yes, the numbers for mps and saba are the same.

(taken form the Brunner-Schwer interview in the SABA/MPS book, p. 61)

Strata-east was all over the place. "Winter in America" vs. "Alkebu-lan." Some were pressed in numbers so small the company as it exists today doesn't recognize them. Others, like the music inc. titles are pretty common. I'd be surprised if "winter in america" sold less than 15k. That record is everywhere. But John Betsch society or billy parker's fourth world... 1k each? Tough to find. No idea what a mean would be. Tolliver would be the one to ask.
