Simple and FREE .wav editor recommendation

All I need it for is to cut a bit out of an mp3. Set start point in wave, set end, save the bit between as a .wav or .mp3. Nothing more. I don't need any full-studio 6"-thick-manual software.Your recommendations appreciated.

If you are a Mac user, try audacity.
It supports VSTs too.
You can get it for PC as well btw.
