I just got my first check for production work!

Pardon my little dude-ish enthusiasm, but it kinda trips me out: I just got paid for making a beat! Hot damn! Crazy. (Also: Zeph & Azeem--"That Type of Music" 12-inch including the DJ Enki remix dropping next week! Cop that!)

    Dude, thank you for that. I love hearing that that track is getting some burn.

    And thanks for the nice words, y'all. I'm really excited to be on this 12, and the fact that I actually got paid to be on this 12 is something else. I feel like I should frame the check like businesses frame the first dollar they earn, except that I kind of need the money right now.

    If you don't ask for $ straight up, you'll never get paid, in my experience.

    Good lookin' out! That was actually my first time out on wax...this remix is my second time on wax, and the first time I've been paid for it. That record I did with E was totally self-financed (and there's a follow-up in the works right now).

    Jaymack: Been making beats for I guess about seven years, but I've only been making good beats for about three or four years. Stay on it, dude! Your shit is really dope.
