Just posted this and it disappeared... Saw "Solaris" finally and was blown away. Seriously overlooked movie. For a Hollywood production it's got style and substance for days, not to mention it seriously messes with your head with the moral and philosophical questions it raises. Amazing soundtrack too by Cliff Martinez. Anyone seen the 1972 movie or read the book? Please tell me if there are other "extended mood piece with killer soundtrack" movies worth checking out...

    I think the 1972 Tarkowski version is way better than the remake - highly recommended.

    agreed. slow quiet & trippy. much more like stanislaw lem's novel
