which software sequencer do you guys think most resembles an asr 10 or mpc? I'm talking as far as making a bunch of 1 or two bar sequences, then putting all the sequences in song mode in the order of your choosing... Or is it a matter of copying and pasting things around and such. Just wondering...

If you're going for a copy past kinda vibe, ableton is good for that. I'm not sure it resembles an mp/asr in any other way but it's a good program none the less. If you wanna keep it software just use any logic/cubase/sonar/tracktion and use your own swing templates. You'd be surprised what you can do with sequencers and a little time setting them up.

How to get the sound of those machines is a hell of a lot harder though!

yeah I know it won't sound as gritty as an asr or mp but it'll do for what I want to do. I still have my ensoniq eps and an asr 10 rack if i want/need to use it though. Thanks for the help!
