just checked out a cd called "best of british rockabillies vol1&2", it was good times. i know nothing of this genre, but i know that i like it...can anyone shed some light on decent artists to check out? peaceNadvance

    I'm no expert- but i like almost anything by early Link Wray and Charlie Feathers. Norton has put out some great comps!

    ...but if you can't shell out the "rockin' bones" for that entire CD box, I'd recommend:
    - Dale Hawkins (on MCA/Chess or Norton)
    - Billy Lee Riley (on Sun)
    - Warren Smith (on Sun)
    - Ronnie Dawson (on almost any label - even his stuff from the '90s is good)
    - Johnny Burnette Rock 'N' Roll Trio (not to be confused with Johnny's later solo recordings on Liberty like "You're Sixteen")
    - Sonny Burgess (on Sun)'
