But i truly do not understand the vintage wax poetics collecting thing. it's a magazine about records. i will go on the record as saying: i have never read a full issue of wax poetics. i think the layout is nice the glossy photos are killer but this is a magazine about records. which is definitely cool but it is what it is
why are people paying $100 for old copies? why are people calling for an anthology? this is not a collection of lost poems or re-discovered work by the fluxus movement or a new volume from harry smith's anthology of american folk music
when someone says "I NEED[/b] issue No . 2" what exactly does this mean?

I think it's less about the thing in question than it is about the personality types that are drawn to the thing. Herbie Mann completists and whatnot.

None of which I would pay $8 for.
Hell, you couldn't pay me to read most folks poetry. I get it - you're introspective. Get over yourself already.
when someone says "I NEED[/b] issue No . 2" what exactly does this mean?
In my case, it means that I would be happy to have it reprinted and sold to me for $6.99 or whatever the price was when it came out.
I see it something akin to an encyclopedia set. I find myself going back to old interviews/articles for reference (I know I'm a dork in that sense ... I figured that out long before I decided to go for my masters in library science) and I'd like to have the Bernard Purdie discography on hand. But I don't quiver when I walk by the "incomplete" collection.
And Push Push is quite enough Herbie Mann for me, thank you.

Dude, I am not introspective. i wouldn't pay $8 for lost poems either but i would pay $8 for the brilliance below. Absolutely breathtakingly original work Spiritual vanguard of the highest caliber Exhausting the limits of human creativity to the utmost You can not even pretend to ignore the beauty That shines from this man's work Reimagine Awaken

Oh, that wasn't directed at you - just poets in general. Poetry these days seems to be someone taking a regular paragraph and giving it weird line breaks, or putting together random non-sequitors in an attempt to sound Still, it's better than Becky talking about her "sorrow" for two pages.
as though this needs explaining wax p is a highly specialized "boutique" small press poorly circlated{#1&2} "academic " journal/resource/reference dealing with a genre specific music fetish/obsession. what did you expect?

Could they at least just print up a few of #2? I feel so incomplete!
Anyone have an extra? I will pay FULL cover price!
me 2. I don't feel like I'm the man I should be.
I sold my copies of 1 & 2 for over a bill a piece a few years back.. still not sure why anyone would pay that much.
I'm in that club ... every issue but #2. I remember that one selling out quickly. RE-PRESS THE MUTHA!
