This year, the Ponderosa Stomp returns to New Orleans (House of Blues, May 2, between Jazz Fest weekends) and "The Hip Drop" DJ All-Nighter (formerly The Big Payback: Revenge of the Funk 45 Nerds) will be included as an official ancillary event of "Stomp Week" (which will also include separate concerts at the Circle Bar w/Dennis Coffey, Little Freddie King and others). If you are coming to the Stomp this year, will be here on Monday, April 30 and would like to throw down a 30 minute set of your 45s in Rare Groove, Deep Funk, Soul & Rockin' Blues - dance party style. (There are a variety of musics represented at the Stomp, but I'm proud to have this particular event represent the soul side.)
