I realized I hadn't read the news in a couple weeks. Does it seem to be especially grim today or is it just me? Is this what it always looks like?? Here are some sample headlines from the google news selection:Slow Response to IPCC Global Warming Report from Corporate LeadersReport says Iraq could be torn apartAnalysis of Iraq's future gets bleakerCancer vaccine ordered for girlsGlobal warming is 'unequivocal', science panel saysViacom orders Google to pull YouTube clipsUS report warns of worsening Iraq violenceHasty Agreement With N.Korea Could Spell DisasterBush will seek $245 billion in defense spendingI'm sure this isn't out of the ordinary but it seems extra messed up today. I don't know if I should start reading the news more or start reading it less. I skipped a week and I feel like the world is falling apart, or is it coming together? I can't tell. What are your daily news resources? Where do you get your news??

Good lord! When did this happen?
All kidding aside, I read our daily paper, the (sn)Oregonian.

DER SPIEGEL is the best German online resource for news and they have a English version as well. The BBC site is simply great and one of the best resources for news in English. Internatinal Herald tribune offers quality and has a different perspective. Le Monde is a quality news resource for French news.
spiegel en bbc carry the facts.

this is actually good news
I disagree. Im not so sure about mandatory vaccinations of any kind, especially when they havent been around long enough to know what the long term effects might be.
So now I am jonesing, because I can't listen for over week because they are doing pledge drive.
I read the Oregonian everyday. The Metro section is the only place to get local political news. I rarely make it to the A section.
I'm not big on on-line news outside of soulstrut (I would never know about the Mayor of SF's girl friends if I didn't). But a great source for online news, and a must for MotownJoe is Debka File.

Debka has more sources inside the CIA, Mesada and other international intellegence agencies than anyone else.
I read Time, Newsweek, National Review when ever I am in a waiting room.
