Powerbook---->HDTV hookup

So I just got a 50-inch HDTV, but I don't have a DVD player. I figured I'd hookup my Powerbook to the thing just to try it out. I have an S-video wire which I hooked up using that mini AVI adapter that came with the computer. The picture comes in on the TV but it doesn't really take up but a third of the screen. What is the best way to configure the computer for this use? Also, what is the best way to hookup sound from computer to TV? I assume there's a better way than using the headphone output on the laptop. Thanks in advance.

    Twelve inch unfortunately, like an '04 model. It came with an external piece with a video and S-video hookup.

    It kinda looks like this without the extra part on top.

    i dont know anyother way besides using that and your headphone jack for audio, unless you get some a/v breakout box which seems much.

    of course you could always buy a dvi/hdmi dvd playa... last i checked panachronic was a bill.
