converting CDA files to WAV/MP3?

a friend of mine recorded a track(its saved as a "cda" file) over the weekend and wanted me to convert it to mp3/wav/etc for him..but I can't seem to figure out how to do this. Can someone tell me an easy way? thanks.

    In cool edit pro (audition) they have a function "extract audio from cd" I use this to pull cda files off cd to render as wave files. What software are you using?
