Yeah, I wanted to pick ones that were arguably the best.
I would have picked the Pixies "Doolittle" as their best, since that's kind of the consensus.
I know a lot of people think "Either/Or" is Elliott Smith's best, but I think he took it to another level with production and creating great pop songs with "Figure 8," although I can see why people don't like to leave behind his more intimate records, "Either/Or" in particular.

Although not necessarily each artists best, IMO.
Pixies' best=Surfer Rosa
