Grand Opening: Saturday June 4th 12 pmGrand Opening Celebration/Epic Arts Open House: Sunday June 12th 12 pmAfter one month of moving madness I'm proud to announce the grand opening of Funky Riddms Records in Berkeley @1921 Ashby Avenue. The new location is across the street from the Ashby Bart Station and easily accessed by freeway. The new store will have a greater selection of Reggae/Dancehall 45s and will continue to stock the highest quality new and used Hip-Hop & Funk.History: Funky Riddms Records opened September 2000 in Berkeley, CA with the goal of providing customers with a good selection of new and rare out of print Hip-Hop, Funk & Reggae vinyl & CDs. It's the first store in the Bay Area to specialize in these styles together and the first in the East Bay to provide listening stations for vinyl djs & collectors. In 2004 Funky Riddms laid the foundation for the first compilation of Bay Area funk music from 1967-1976 entitled Bay Area Funk (Luv n' Haight/Ubiquity) which has sold close to 20,000 copies worldwide. We are currently in the studio mixing down tracks featuring the legendary foundation dee jay from Jamaica Ranking Joe which will be our first release on the Funky Riddms Records label.Peace & Funky Beats,Jah BlessGabe/DJ RiddmFunky Riddms Records1921 Ashby AvenueBerkeley, CA 94703ph/fx 510-548-7436web www.funkyriddms.com (soon come)
