    I got the straight up bamboo roller. Live in Brooklyn so there are two very large chinese neighborhoods in my area. Seafood spot that sells sashimi only tuna by the pound. a bit pricey. Usually just make cali or philly rolls or just plain avocado. The thing to really get is the rice steamer. I used to roll with the boil rice and it aint the same.

    Got everything here at the crib. Full set of Japanese sushi knives, sushi rollers, presses, wooden rice holder, all dat. (They were all gifts)
    Rarely use any of the stuff. Making sushi is such an elevated art form that I don't fuck with it at home, I leave that to the pros. If I really want good sushi, we go out. We've got good authentic sushi spots a few blocks away and our favorite spot is downtown as well. Off to Tokyo for a few weeks next month where I will eat some SERIOUS sushi. In Seattle, it's all about the hommie Kashiba Shiro!!!!

    I'm all about Nigiri so I don't fuck with the rolls (except maybe a spicy tuna roll)...

    all I'm sayin' is that I had the premium Toro at Ibisu last night, and that shits melted in my mouth!!!

    30 minutes ago my youthwork squad just taught twenty different middleschool philly whippersnappers how to roll some nori rolls. steamed yams, asparagus, shrimp, avocado, thinly sliced carrots, mangoes (one of my workers ideas) pickled ginger, wasabi.....and brown rice (to stay with our whole nutrition mantra).

    all the kids started saying , ewwwwwww thas nasty. but not a piece was left at the end. long live sushi
