Getting pencil off a jacket?

Eraser will take the jacket's color with it... I recall there being a better solution but can't remember what it isHAELP

    Google says dry baking soda. Rub it in, then scratch it off. Unsure of efficacy.

    I was gonna start a thread about how I got ink off a jacket with one of those "Magic Eraser"
    sponges. Took the ink right off, with no adverse affects. Be careful though cause I did
    a shitty cover 1st and it's easy to go from taking off the ink and taking off some of the color
    on the cover.
