Sound Nerds Solid State amps or Tubed Amps? What sounds better to you and why? Or do you use both in your set up? What would you recomend for the best sound???

    i have tubes and probably won't ever go back to ss. but hip hop sounds much better on ss because tubes kind of have a mushy bass response. tubes are also a huge pain in the ass and are expensive -- definitely not for the faint of heart.

    i have not heard hybrids though . . .

    Solid State is my choice.

    Power hungry, but nice warm rich sound, and a better bass responce as stated before.
