http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrRR-PuG-74(Table Manners Promo Reel)[/b]Rules for the Q&A Battle:[/b]*TM style rules ??? Note: there have been other battles that have attempted to host similar ???Q&A??? battles, hopefully with your (the DJ's, guests, sponsors, venue hosts, etc) assistance, we can make this our signature DJ competition which others can closely replicate and share with the masses. Our intent in forming this battle is to elevate the art of battle DJing by introducing a new format so people can think and be more out of the box. We???re not opposed to the traditional styles of battling (DMC & ITF), however we feel it???s important to cater to the current trend in ???turtablism??? which is scratching, thanks to Q-Bert & a list of other scratch oriented DJ???s. Today we have millions of ???scratchers??? who just scratch?!, so why not provide a platform so they can be challenged to flex, not just on a freestyle tip, but also showing their creative abilities in planning & executing? So here we are, TM4 is approaching soon. This is a calling to all scratch DJ???s to come out and represent, earn your stripes and take notes.*You will be judged on everything from preparedness, i.e. how well your rounds are composed. Please do not enter and just scratch ahh & fresh[/b] for each round, this is boring, dull, & misinforming. You will be automatically disqualified if the judges feel you are neglecting this aspect of the judging criterion. You will also be judged on funk, technical ability, & style.*Advice:[/b] Come prepared with phrases, hooks, instruments, drum patterns, scratch routines, sick cut patterns. Perhaps you can start off with a phrase then enter into to some cuts then back to the phrase for your round. Or maybe start with an instrument then go into some cutting then back into the instrument, or take a scratch sentence and rip it up through your round. It would also be dope to see folks do some sick juggles in a round, yes juggling to another beat!!! And possibly some dope drumming. We're not opposed to folks using Microwave, manipulating sentences that they have created using another editing program, be creative!!! Hope everyone does well. Slots are limited so please sign up asap!!!Rules for the 2on2 Q&A Battle:[/b]Same as above except now you and your partner can come up with a wider range of compositions. Think D-Styles/Ricci Rucker bouncing off Funky Fresh/Ah Yeah & tweaking the same sample differently at the same time, or The Executioners bouncing phrases, or bouncing drums off of each other, or one doing a flare the other doing orbits, or synchronized cutting, the possibilities are vast. Try looking at it like a B-Boy battle where a crew will come out and do a team routine, which opens it for a crewmember to bust a solo routine. The only difference is this is on the fly and to a beat provided by another DJ.We have a new way of determining rounds which will be unveiled at the next TM, this will make things much easier and smoother, God willing...If you have any questions, hit me, Ron aka kidragon, back at tablemanners101@gmail.com[/b]Money and prizes (from our sponsors) for the winners of each battle.Salams, peace Introducing the first ever 2 on 2 Q&A Battle + the Original TM Cut Battle (accept no imitations)Vinyl Sale for all you diggers & vinyl junkiesDope DJ's playin music for all, even the bboys/bgirls![/b]
