Camino 1.01 (Mac Internet Browser Related)

Anyone heard of this... just installed it for some intangible reason, seems sleeker than firefox (and WAY better than safari).i guess its mozilla's browser for macs. still tryin to figure out what the diff is.. but im likin the interface.anythoughts (web designers wasup )http://www.caminobrowser.org/

    just curious, but what are your problems with safari?

    i use firefox sometimes and have camino installed, but almost never use it.

    HI *RJ**, I'm using Camino to type this message. Not feeling the browser, brommie.

    And, since you can't seem to pick up your phone, why don't you list your pros and cons about this and Safari for us.

    yea so i cant really see a functional reason why to use camino instead of firefox except for the following:

    -searching your history
    -blocking "within window" pop up adds (hot)
    - and in the download window, you can "show file" which im pretty sure is not an option in firefox (although in safari)

    the other pros that are just aesthetics are little things, like the pages are slightly sharper, there's shading on buttons and other really sublte touches.


    the BIG cons are basicaly it cant handle alot of animated gifs within a page ( for the average struter), and i noticed that some of the embedded youtube stuff started to freak out the browser.


    all in all this is the first release and im sure those cons will get worked out. maybe after the second or third release it be hot.

    RE: Safari v Firefox--well i really like the slight perks firefox has ie rearranging tabs, a boat load of plugins (downloading youtube videos to your comp and coverting them to the video ipod format, sms texting within your window, and an adjustible search bar for flickr tags, wikipedia, imdb and more), plus its full compatibility with google chat/calander/spreadsheets. not that im a programmer or anything, but im told firefox is super third-party developer friendly => amazingly dorky but super useful functions.

    anyways, i end up just using firefox cause it downloads porn faster.
