Whats interesting is I think thats actually a Taiwanese folk classic as well, title translated as something like "The Lady From Ali Shan".

its been covered many times, even Francis Yip had a nice groovy version of that on her Cathay Pacific limited LP.

I wonder if the Jamaican version existed first, or the Taiwanese folk version, since the Taiwanese version was around even in the 1950s..

Saw her in Atlantic City years ago with Roman Tam and Alan Tam (no relation I think).
She did a pretty nice cover of Nu Shooz "Should I Say Yes".
