Another q: Recommend any good comps? I saw one @ a record store the other day, I think it was called 'meet me at the gogo' and it had a camo-looking cover. Is that a good comp?

That looks like a good starting comp of some of the biggest tracks. Most of those 12s are very common around DC. You kind of get sick of seeing them. I'm glad I bought them anyways. I should have bought multiples to trade, because outside of DC, they are scarce.

Hahah, yup! So dope to me.

I got a pretty thorough go-go collection (started copping things back in 96.) Living in Philly we were in close enough proximity to really get effected by DC and Baltimore music, but still have our "big city" metropolis identity - although it was always a bit of a "little brother" identity - to have a connection to New York and that East Coast hip-hop sound. But my go-go collection is currently spread out between 4 houses and 2 states. I need to get my shit together, but I guess I just haven't considering it's super hard to play any go-go in New York (except for "Sardines" maybe.)

  • thanks dudes.
