Q:[/b] hi there, how you come to the conclusion that this record in vg to vg+ condition is worth $2500! this would lead to the fact that a perfect M- copy would be worth around $5000! i don't want to criticize, i just want enlightenment or well-founded knowledge. many thanks & best regards

A:[/b] Point well taken! I made a huge mistake. You must think I'm an idiot, (I would). I misunderstood my collector friend who knows a lot more about the current prices than I do. I'm changing the starting price to $400.00 tonight. Thanks for your inquiry, all the best, Ray
i sent him a "what are you smoking message" and he replied with:
Im getting a lot of that. I made a BIG mistake. You must think I'm an Idiot (I would). I misunderstood my collector friend who knows a lot more about current pricing than I do. I'm changing the starting price to $400.00 tonight. Thanks for you comments, all the best, Ray
To be fair, the Goldmine 50% thing is a guideline, not a rule, obviously it's worth whatever people are willing to pay but sheesh, that was just ridiculous. And honestly $400 is kinda dumb too, but whatever.

i've send him this message & wasn't meant 100% serious with the goldmine guideline ;-) of course... every record is worth what one is willing to pay, totally agree and we will see it in the end of this auction
A while ago people were complaining about a guy on ebay who paid $400 for a sealed copy of the first kool & the gang LP and wondering aloud what idiot would do that. Yup, bidder they were clowning on was one funkyman72... always thought that was funny.

Check out that shipping rate.
It's the mandatory insurance, based on the presumed cost of $2500.

Is that DjShadow's Ebay handle?
Drewn droppin dimes over here!
Young Davis is going to have to change his handle now to avoid carpetbagging bidders! (Not referring to you Arcadian)
thats actually a fair price for that methinks.
