parking at the Hollywood Bowl?...

ok... i figured someone here would be able to drop some knowledge on this here...i just got tickets to go see herbie hancock at the hollywood bowl on wednesday... i've only been to the bowl once before, and it's a great venue as far as acoustics go (plus you can bring your own booze and food at no additional cost), but i remember parking there being a major pain in the ass because of the huge crowds. i'm gonna be arriving somewhat late as is [since i don't leave work til late]... so i was just hoping someone could shine some light on the best way to accomplish parking so i can get there on time & what not... do any of you ever park within walking distance of the bowl? is it better to just pay the parking fee?... should i consider one of those shuttles or sumthin? (i'd rather not)... any help is appreciated...
