Lightscribe? Burners for back up????

I don't really care about the graphics burner part that much, but it's a nice perk. This beats a external hard drive that fills up and can't go any further.Thoughts?Any other back up burners you know about?Thanks!

I'm not the best with computers....can I just put a DVD disc in my computer and burn music onto it or does it take a special burner?
