I would think he'd play a lot of his golden era joints. I can't imagine a lot of people paying $25 to hear his new stuff.

I don't even think I would go to any outdoor shows in this heat.

I was talking to this girl last night who mentioned seeing LL not too long ago, actually. She said he did it something heavy, including all of old classics. So, if that's your thing, it might be worth your time. Although, all of her other senses may have been dampened once his shirt came off.

  • If Mr. and Mrs. Fatback don't hear "I Need Love," the night will be a wash.

Unless, of course, LL removes his shirt.

i thought you were playing at NY Deli?

i dont know if i would pay 25, but if i had the extra cash i might go. Kanawha plaza is kinda cool to see shows at.

i couldnt imagine him not playing a clasics set in there somewhere. that be like shooting yourself in the foot IMO.

yes. i saw him in 1999 at an outdoor event in Boston and he did very little new material (for '99). he came out to "phenomenon" cause that was his new shit back then, but after that he went right into "i'm bad", and then a majority of his show was old school classics. he also had a legitimate stage show...dancers, choreography, good transitions.

Good point. I'll have to see what it's gonna feel like that night. But otherwise, I was planning on going myself.
Everyone who plays at those Kanawha shows does their classic material.
I'll still stop by NY Deli afterwards.
