Not mine, but my two housemates who take care of all the pictures. Check the pool party pics from this past weekend. I get my groove on in the pool

The quality of those pics are very sharp. What kind of camera do you use?

Yeah, the above photo is the Kokee lookout on Kauai... my girlfriend lives on the island about half the year.

Botanical gardens are right in Golden Gate Park. They have a great South African section. The climate in San Francisco is almost identical to Cape Town - it's one of the only places in the world that you can grow a lot of Cape species. Ditto the New Zealand section.

Casio EX-750. Really nice 7MP ultra-compact with good photographer's controls. It doesn't do too well in low light though.

hey aser! this looks like lake merrit in oakland.

i have a flickr account like how i have a friendster account. my more savvy computer internet friends all got one and then they coerced me into getting one. but i dont have a digicam. so there's nothing there. sorry, didnt mean to bore you. my photobucket account is on fire though.

i tried to steal some photos of san pedro ports o call but flickr does some sort of voodoo on that shit so you cant steal. fucking fuckers.

    san pedro ports o call

food is decent. but honestly its more about the experience. they play oldies and have karaoke.

yup, lake merritt, seriously a very nice place to live.

you can click "all sizes" and it'll give you the direct jpg url, which you can paste. Although some users have "all sizes" disabled.

holy shit for reals?!? but it looks so clean i thought it had to be canada or someplace nice. i mean, where's all the goose shit and i dont see any dead bodies in the lake. you gotta be lying!

i have no idea what youre talking about "all sizes". that's ok though.

I've gots that one, and I like it. Pretty durable... goes with me everywhere, even when I'm not completely sober. As with any LCD camera, becareful not to let it slide around in your pocket, purse, etc., cuz the screen will get scratched up. Buy a case quick-like!

thanks for the advice. how would you rate it in low light situations?

most compact cameras won't do so well in low light. Even if they offer higher ISO settings, there would be too much noise to use. Your best bet w/ ultra compacts and low lights are models featuring image stabilization. For the elph, the sd700 has IS. Supposedly, Panasonic's OIS is the best of the bunch.

Obviously, it's still not going to be as good as a quality high ISO.

damn. well that's okay. that image stabilization thing sounds awesome.

i'm gonna get this slave flash for digital cams since my other one only works with my film cameras

    slave flashes are fun

I've gotten it down alright using the nightshot (delayed shutter/flash) feature and with adjusting the ISO settings. I still have fun with low-light shots... streaming beams and what-not. I'll post some I just took in Koreatown/LA a week or so ago. As with any low-light shot finding some stabilization is key.

I think you'll like it. After a week or so, you'll be flying through different settings specific to your setting. Easy to get down.

The first photo will be on display at the Cedar Rapids Art Museum from September to January (demensions: 3.5 ft by 5 ft aprox.). I always forget about my flickr account, but you've all inspired me to put more up which I will do soon.
