All Have The Same Name......In the 60's there were three different bands, from three different countries, that all released psychedelic LP's that are considered classics and have all subsequently been re-issued/bootlegged.What all too common name did these three bands share and what 3 countries were they from??I'll figure out some sort of prize later.

I like the Mexican group, but they are all good. Only heard the first lp by the American group on Epic actually though.

The early stuff (pre-Fairfield parlour) by the UK Kaleidoscope is killer, esp. 'Flight From Ashiya', 'Holidaymaker', 'Faintly Blowing' etc.

The US Kaleidoscope is more of a West Coast eclectic with elements of old timey music, world music and 60's pop. They also get extra credit for doing a 45 with Larry Williams and Johnny Watson.

    Never heard the Mexi-Scope....

Quite possibly the most inane and awesome collab in music history -
although awesome more in theory than practice, as the 45 ("Nobody" on Okeh)
is pretty good but not especially great or mindblowing.

There's some good anecdotal material on this in the Unterberger book
URBAN SPACEMEN & WAYFARING STRANGERS, which features a chapter
on Kaleidoscope. Apparently the band were represented by LW & JW's
booking agent, and when they started out he was booking them at
black clubs all over south central LA. The thought of a bunch of
hippies playing exotic homemade instruments to a half-full bar of
Watts locals on a Sunday afternoon is pretty damn priceless.
They also recount Larry & Johnny showing up to the studio in matching
    Rolls Royces and wearing capes.
