The Record Haze

You've seen it on those Uni, MGM, Colgems and other 60's labels where the record has this weird "haze" completely covering the vinyl.Sometimes it's on one side of the LP., sometimes it's on both.Sometimes it effects the sound, sometimes it doesn't.I've heard numerous explanations as to what caused it but I'm not sure any of them were accurate.Anyone know the REAL scoop???

I'm not sure but I have been guessing it's manufacturing error, due to the press being too hot when the record was made, causing heat damage. Either that or my other hypothesis is that it has something to do with pressing records with shitty quality vinyl.
