Dear djhuxtable ,We appreciate that you chose eBay to list the following item:Three 6 Mafia Chpt 2 World Domination 2x LP PROMO rap Item number: 4731146726This auction listing has already ended. However, the listing was in violation of eBay's policies. We would like to take this opportunity to let you know what part of your listing is not allowed.Your listing contains the following information:Funk / Jazz / Northern Soul / r & b / Psych / Prog / Garage / New Wave / Electro / Rare Disco 12"S / Modern Soul / Breaks / Hiphop / Spoken Word / Punk / Metal and tons more!!!We realize you may not be aware of this policy, but using such terms in this way is considered "Search Manipulation," which is not permitted by eBay.the shit was in my description..not title. This is a violation!?!?!

Wait, I just read your post again. You should put those words in again, but in white lettering, see if gets the same response.

[color:white]You know, so you can put in terms like rare funk 45 beats breaks samples loops drums Blue Note Impulse jazz Jessica Simpson Jenna Jameson viagra bread American Idol [/color] and no one would know.

(I just realized that not everyone may be seeing their page with a white background, so my reply here may be useless.)

I think it's some variation on the "blank text" issue, where people will have a huge area of their template that looks blank, but has hundreds of keywords written in the same color as the background, so as to be invisible, and show up in thousands of searches - and I think they do not allow this. You just seem to have a little thing basically saying "check my other auctions," and if you ever got penalized, they would probably agree you are not in "violation." Unless now they won't even let you promote your other auctions, which would be retarded.

Just saying "check my auctions" is one thing, but when you list all those different genres that's something that suppossedly is not allowed. They got me on this too a few years ago. Really, it makes sense if you think about it... don't you hate to do a search for something and come up with like hundreds of things that really aren't even pertaining to what you're actually looking for? I'm not mad at it.

last time I checked if you search in ebay your results are only bassed on what appears in the "title" line of the auction. Am I wrong? I haven't ebayed (selling) in a year or so but I always included this:

Check my other auctions for Jazz/Funk/Prog/Rock/Soul/Psych/Weird/Easy/Soundtrack/Breaks/Beats & More!

at the bottom of my listing and never got crap from them.

It's keyword spamming, it's . Keep it limited to the stuff you're actually selling that time around!
    Peace

It really sucks when you get back 1000 hits from a search that usually gets 2 or 3. Some of my searches are broad (like music labels) and if somebody puts in a shitload of keywords in every one of their auctions, that throws a wrench in things.

It's technically a no-no, but everybody does it. Same with the "4% paypal surcharge" clause. Basically ebay can't police everything, so they rely on people complaining. Kind of wack. But sometimes necessary.

There's a little box that says "Search title and description"... if that's checked then you're searching, uh, the title and the description. If not checked then you're just searching the title. Depending on what it is you're looking for, it's usually a good idea to have that box checked when you conduct your searches (IMO anyway).
