I like Marvel but seriously, after the middling fortunes of the enterprise so far, I don't trust a Hulk 2 would be much good. Same goes for FF2. "Ghost Rider" ok, but not with Nic Cage. X:Men 3 has already gottten shitten on badly (though a "Wolverine" solo movie would probably be a very good look). "Spiderman 3" is probably going to be at least watchable (we hope).
But "Ant-Man"? Seriously?
And I'd have more faith in "Thor" or "Iron Man" depending on casting but "Thor" just seems weird to me. "Iron Man" could be good but only if Ghostface gets to do the soundtrack.
although it's not MARVEL... i'd really like to see a movie based on the [Vertigo Comics] SANDMAN character of DEATH. that was a cool mini series that i kinda dug back in the day and would make a decent movie. i imagine it being done in a richard linklater style (laid back with lot of converstaion & such).
THE WATCHMEN
by 2020? Will Marvel have used up all their stars and resort to this?
and what about
G you need to come back and hang out with a friend of mine down here. He teaches a course at Rollins on the history of the comic book. Pretty good gig! Of all the books on my bookshelf he picks up.... the watchmen.
this would make a very cool movie as well... much better storyline that most of these comics.
Awwww shit, i have gone through so many copies of this as i keep handing it to people saying "you must read this"
Oh shit, ok you are the director, you have an unlimited budget, who do you cast?
The Incredibles is about as close as you're gonna get to an end product of Watchmen, movies-wise.
My brother used to draw for Marvel UK. (StuartJennett.com)

Ghost Rider movie site
you took the words right outta my mouth.
Thats what I'm talkin about.
Definately my 1st choice...
Weakest of all time? (WOAT)
Yeah, definetely bring on The Punisher. But make it with no added Hollywood saccharine or don't even bother.
I've never seen the '89 Dolph L version, but I could imagine it was dewdoo.
If the script you're referring to is the Sam Hamm (Burton's Batman) one, its a stinker. A new script is needed.
Actually, it was good in the sense that it was really, really bad.
BREAD AND CIRCUS
Oliver pretty much nailed it. And judging from the looks of the Ghost Rider movie, none of those look too promising.
CGI looks so overdone
Ant Man was always kind of campy/ironic, so I could actually
see potential for this - I would have finished that sentence with
"maybe in the hands of Clowes/Zwigoff" if I hadn't seen Art School
Confidential last week. meh.
Still, if made as some geekfest retro tribute to the Lee & Kirby era,
Ant Man could be something cool.
Or maybe just another CGI snoozefest.
Marvel has tried to make Ant Man edgy for a while. There was a sex scene with him & the wasp (I think) that was in a recent Avengers & a mini for the marvel MAX (18+) line that is still in development. I think he was a wife beater, too.
