stupid mac video question

I've used Macs since, forever, but I've never imported video. So far, I've recorded about three hours worth of DV video of my Sony camcorder but now I realize, I'm clearly missing some kind of Firewire or USB input adapter to allow me to import said video back into my computer. The thing is: I have no idea what I need and when I put "import video" into the Apple Store search bar, I get nada that seems appropriate - it's all output cables.Am I missing something obvious?

    My camera only came with a USB --> USB cord plus a A/V ---> S-Video/Video RCA/Twin Audio RCA cord.

    I'm guessing I need a...A/V ---> Firewire cable?

    O, get the cable big hommie is talking about, hook it up and open iMovie. Flip the switch near the bottom left from the scissor icon to the little video camera and you're soulin'.
