Besides Faith No More's cover of "Midnight Cowboy" is there any good music w/ this grating instrument??

Also, some latin music has some good accordian. The Tito Puente/Celia Cruz "Cuba y Puerto Rico Son..." LP that I have on right now features some accordian.
I would love to learn how to play one.
a perfect example of never judge a record by it's sleave, i guess.
what's it like?
Shit yes. "Cold, Cold Ground," will melt your face right the fuck off.
1950s jazz al la George Shearing quintet style
yeah that sample sounds like its a nice track.
oud/piano/accordion
features the bandoneon. (similar)
Check out some of Astor Piazolla's stuff from the 70s.
Clifton Cheniere, the King of Zydeco!
I think the accordion is the most fun instrument to play. It's like music and exercise at the same time.
Art Van Damm made nice mellow jazz albums for 30 years.
Always with top notch side men like Joe Pass.
Clifton Chenier - The only zydeco you need.
Pastor Piazzola - His instrument is called the bandeon,
or something like that. Insane composer who was ignored
until his death in the late 80s or early 90s, now every
jazz, avant and classical musician in the world is playing
his music.
Flaco Jimenez - If you don't like Tex-Mex polkas check his
records with Doug Sahm for more of a roots rock feel.
Steve Jordan - Oneeyedtexasboardermusic
Balfa Brothers - The Cajun button accordion if you like raw
American root music.
A couple of Little Feat songs.
If all you are interested in is funk and breaks keep away from
the accordion. If you like folk music from around the world
there are plenty of great accordion and other squeeze box players.
Things like South African music with accordion and penny whistle.
it's actually a pretty recent track by daedelus that madlib sampled...
daedelus - "experience" (from the 'invention' LP)
I think Jorge is saying that Astor Piazolla was hugely famous and influential, and about the furthest thing possible from ignored.
I like his "Tango: Zero Hour" record and collaborations with Gary Burton...

Astor, Pastor, what's the difference?
I discovered him about 1990, Zero Hour is one of my favorite cds. People I talked to who were well imformed musically did not know him. There were like 2 Piazzola discs available in the states then, and know *** ***** plays Piazzola records. Today the market is flooded with them.
I know this guy who roomed with him in Paris in the 1950s. He's a huge collector who picks up every release any where in the world, and has everything back to 78s.
clifton chenier is king of zydeco, check him out.
cj his son ain't soooooo bad either.
flaco jimenez is AWESOME!!!!!
king of tex-mex.
right as always dan!!!
