I respect the fact that he used to do long shows in small venues. I also respect that he sings about working Americans. It's just his music I don't like.

I respect that he made an Amadou song. But still, his music is wicked gabage.

what, no love for dancing in the dark?

  • I'm not surprised that no one on here has love for the Boss, but I'm a Springsteen fan. I'm sitting on his entire catalogue, scores of live boots and various studio outtake CDs. Sure, he gets cheesy, but his commentary on American life is just about as good as it gets in popular music. He's a great songwriter. While I'm a fan of his early material with the full on group, I never felt that the E Street Band matched Bruce's own contributions. I always wanted to see him him with a more competent band.

Anyone even remotely interested in taking a second look into his catalogue should check out "Darkness On The Edge Of Town," "The River" and "Nebraska". "Born In The USA" is a great album too, but I can see people getting caught up by the (over)production. And, I'm sure everyone knows "Born To Run".

As far as live shows, everyone should check out his '78 show at the Winterland. Bruce is on fire. He did a show in Philly for the Vietnam Vets that is pretty good too. If anyone is interested, I can upload these.

Bruce, afterall, is one of the performers Prince used to check out for inspiration for his live show. That says a lot.

I love everything up through the River. Easily one of the best American songwriters. Breaks too! Well, not really...

Actually, I believe the correct pronunciation is B.O.$.$.
    Docterate Studies Gangsta Rap music.
The more you think of it the more you realize that the 90's truly had some bizarre rap acts.

"Blinded by the light" is the only song he's written that made it to #1, and it wasn't even his version.
He said he wrote that song by just sitting down with a rhyming dictionary.

My bro is a HUGE fan. The Boss and Prince rule his world.

Oh yeah, The E Street Shuffle =

    This is a Vertigo poster?

    From what country?

It's completely cool & insane, although not
    very reminiscent of the film...

    go!

Springsteen > David Sancious > Stanley Clarke > Roy Ayers > Fela!

Is that 3 degrees or 5?
