Five of entourage also in custody in VIP lounge row?? Gangsta rapper unable to fly to Johannesburg for gig Jacqueline MaleyFriday April 28, 2006The Guardian The rap group NWA once declared that "life ain't nothing but bitches and money". But for fellow gangsta rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg, entry to the first class airport lounge is quite important too.The 34-year-old and five members of his entourage were arrested at Heathrow airport on Wednesday night after a huge brawl broke out over the refusal of British Airways to allow the entire group into its VIP lounge.Police confirmed they were called to a disturbance involving 30 people in a business lounge at Heathrow's Terminal 1 at 6pm on Wednesday, and that six Americans in their 30s had been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and affray.Seven officers were injured in the punch-up and an onlooker said one policeman was hurled across the room "like a rag doll" by a seven-foot member of the gang. Scotland Yard last night confirmed that one of the men had been bailed until mid-May. No information was available about the other five in custody.Violence broke out when some members of the entourage were refused entry to BA's first class lounge, as they only had economy-class tickets.According to reports, the men became rude and abusive and barged their way in. Airline officials then told the men that as a result of their behaviour they would not be permitted to board their flight to Johannesburg, where Snoop, 34, was due to play a gig last night. When police were called to escort them from the airport, a fight broke out, with gang members smashing bottles in shops and attacking police.Six policemen suffered cuts and bruises, and one a fractured hand.Other travellers in the departure lounge, who reportedly included pop singer Ronan Keating, looked on in disbelief."There were all these huge 20-stone men smashing up display cabinets and throwing people around," said a Heathrow worker who witnessed the fracas. "I saw Snoop Dogg on the ground with four riot police trying to put him in handcuffs."His minders were throwing bottles of duty free at people. They were throwing people around like pillows. Then the police used pepper spray on them." A BA spokesman yesterday confirmed the airline was considering sanctions against members of the 30-strong group, including life bans for the worst offenders.Snoop and his posse were in transit at Heathrow, en route to South Africa from Los Angeles. Apart from the Johannesburg concert, the gangsta rapper was due to perform two other gigs over the weekend, at Durban and Cape Town. His new film, Boss 'n Up, is being released and film promoters were yesterday left in doubt about whether he would still go ahead with promotional interviews. The movie is based on Snoop's most recent album, Rhythm & Gangsta: the Masterpiece, and features the rapper narrating his life story as a pimp from inside jail.Unlike the west London police station where Snoop and his friends are being held, the prison in the movie has golden bars and diamond-encrusted locks.

    Hey,

As a proud Black man, I hate reading about such ignorant-ass behavior. This kinda shit makes life more difficult for law-abiding, peace-lovin' brothas like myself.

    Peace,

I'm shocked that well known hardman Ronan didn't take down a couple of them with his fists.

All sounds like a weak ass publicity stunt to me.

Maybe they were all upset because they wanted Ronans autograph, anyway Snoop must be a prime candidate to do a duet with Ronan after the Elton John/2Pac record...
