Was this ever actually a real promo?

I've seen various real-looking boots of this material... with MCA promo labels...

The title of the thread was not "REP Hip Hop featuring EXECRABLE COVER ART".

  • HarveyCanalHarveyCanal "a distraction from my main thesis." 13,234 Posts
Thread wasn't called "Be a Posting Epitome of a Ninny Bitch" either.

What the???? Where do you know YB/Youngblood from? Didn't think I'd ever see someone on this board mention some long forgotten danish hiphop from '92 in a thread like this. And it's not even one of his good tracks

What is your physical location JustAlice?

  • Generally I hate the two together but I always liked Pete Rock & CL - Lots Of Lovin' and that track on the first Ed OG & Da Bulldogs LP.

Anything with Slick Rick singing on in it ie Venus

Currently, I am physically located in my bed, its still morning in my book....But generally, most often I can be found in and around the NW Sector of the U.S. PDX.

I dont know any of his other stuff, That is the only 12'' that I have. I am danish though if that counhts for anything. Also Im down with YZ and the YG'z not to be confused with YB.

Can you turn me onto to some YB Heat??

Some random Wu-Tang song which I heard (gasp!) on one of those MF Doom tapes. I think the song is called "Windpipe." Not sure the original Wu source material. But O.D.B. basically is singing at ever-increasing intervals: "What party can you go to / That Wu ain't there / You bitches acting like you don't care." By the end of the song, he is screaming that line. It's beautiful. There's a little banjo in the background too.

I knew there had to be a DK connection. How long have you been in the US? I'm in Copenhagen myself.

YB released an album called "I Am What I Am" that included "Give 'Em What You Got", which has a couple of slightly harder tracks.

The cover is good for a few laughs :

I've got the pre-release demo tape somewhere, which was much better, with a less radio-friendly sound. Before and after his solo thing he was in the groups Underground Alliance and Boot Funk.
